Alles liegt auf der Hand für jene die schon Teil der OnlineCommunity sind. Aber die meisten Neuankömmlinge haben Probleme. Die Netiquette hilft oft nicht, weil sie zwar das "was", aber nicht das "warum" erklärt.

Sei konstruktiv. Die OnlineWelt ist wie ein neuentdeckter Kontinent, ein Land der Pioniere. Es ist mühsam, etwas Neues in dieser OnlineWelt zu schaffen. Es ist viel leichter, Gemeinschaft, Kultur oder Systeme zu kritisieren und zu zerstören, als sie aufzubauen. Jedoch überleben kann nur das Aufgebaute, und vorwiegend die konstruktiv zum Aufbau beitragen, haben in der Community Bedeutung. Hilf denen, die dabei sind etwas aufzubauen, auch wenn du nicht alles verstehst und dich nicht mit allem identifizierst. Nach einer gewissen Zeit wird die OnlineCommunity dich akzeptieren und dir helfen, wenn du Hilfe brauchst. Lebe eine Weile mit den existierenden Regeln, du kannst sie etwas später immer noch in Frage stellen.

Sei authentisch. Auch wenn du nicht superklug und keine Experte auf irgendeinem Spezialgebiet bist, kannst du leicht Teil der OnlineCommunity werden. Dein persönlicher Hintergrund und deine Fragen, sogar das was du nicht weißt, siehst oder verstehst, kann wertvolles Feedback für andere sein. Aber das wertvollste Geschenk, das du der Gemeinschaft machst, ist deine echte Persönlichkeit und Identität. Verwende deinen Realnamen, sag was du wirklich denkst und fühlst und handle danach. Deine Authentizität ist wie eine goldene Kreditkarte mit jeder Menge Kredit. Sei nicht schüchtern. Vertraue der OnlineCommunity und sie wird dir vertrauen und dich verteidigen. Die persönliche Historie deiner Kommunikation und Kooperation ist dein Fundament in der OnlineWelt.

Beachte die Reziprozität. Die OnlineWelt ist eine Welt der Synergie. Wissen zu teilen ist nicht mühsam, oft nur eine Sache von Minuten. Für andere ist dieses Wissen wertvoll und erspart Stunden des Suchens und des Bemühens um Verstehen. Also gibt es eine Gewinn-Faktor von 10-50. Wenn du deinerseits Anwort auf deine Fragen bekommst, gibt es nur Gewinner (und daneben eine Menge Spielraum für Spaß). Aber dieses System funktioniert nur, wenn alle diesem Kooperationsgedanken folgen (und die OnlineCommunity nicht nur als Gratis-Bedienungsladen missbrauchen). Damit OnlineCommunity funktioniert ist es notwendig, den Spruch vom "gib" und "dir wird gegeben" Online wahr werden zu lassen. Kenne die Bewohner deiner OnlineCommunity und hilf denen, die kooperieren. Es klingt vielleicht hart, es gehört aber auch dazu: Hilf jenen nicht, die sich weder persönlich einbringen noch konstruktiv bemühen (Aber hilf Ihnen auf den Weg).

The context:

Everything seems easy for those that are already part of the OnlineCommunity. But most newbies have problems. The netiquette often doesn't help because it only tells what to do and not why to do it.

Be constructive. The OnlineWorld is like a new continent, a land of pioneers. Its hard to build a new world and there are many obstacles. It is much easier to destroy systems, community or culture than to build them. Only things built may survive and only builders count. So give a helping hand to those that are building, even if you don't understand and don't like everything you see. After a while the OnlineCommunity will accept you and help you when it's your turn. Live with existing rules for the moment, you may challenge them after a while.

Be authentical. Even if you aren't strong, no expert of any kind, you can easily become a part of the OnlineCommunity. Your background and your questions, even the things you don't know, don't see and don't understand may be interesting feedback to others. But the most valuable gift is your real personality and identity. Say what you feel or think and walk your talk. Its like a golden card that gives lots of credit. Don't be shy. Trust the community and they will trust and defend you. Your personal history of communication and cooperation is your foundation in the OnlineWorld.

Breathe reciprocity. The OnlineWorld is a world of synergy. To give your knowledge is not tiresome, it may take only 5 minutes. To others this knowledge is valuable, saving hours of searching and struggling to understand. So there is a win-factor of 10-50. If you can get answers to your questions in turn, there are only winners (and there is still headroom for fun). But the system only works if all value cooperation. So follow the bible and make "give" and "you will be given" true online. Don't give to those that don't give. Know the people in the OnlineCommunity and help those that deserve it.
